“A restored and thriving Rwensama Learning Forest, where biodiversity flourishes and local
communities prosper.”
“To conserve and restore the Rwensama Learning Forest through sustainable forest
management, community engagement, and education, promoting biodiversity and improving
livelihoods.”
At Make It Green Again Uganda (MIGAU), we believe that living green is living life. Since 2016, we’ve worked with local communities to restore forests, plant over 3.8 million native trees, and protect endangered species. But our mission goes beyond tree planting — it’s about empowering people, conserving biodiversity, and creating sustainable futures. Whether it’s clean energy, waste management, or environmental education, we are committed to transforming landscapes and lives, one green step at a time

Act Now!We are committed to environmental and social practices that ensure long-term ecological balance and community well-being. Our tree planting, clean energy, and waste management programs are designed not just for immediate impact but to preserve Uganda’s biodiversity and natural resources for future generations. Sustainability guides every project we initiate—from forest restoration to e-waste management.
At MIGAU, we believe that lasting change begins with the people. We engage local communities in the planning, implementation, and stewardship of every project. By providing training, resources, and leadership opportunities, we equip individuals—especially women, youth, and indigenous groups—to become guardians of their environment and drivers of their own development.
We uphold the highest standards of transparency and integrity in everything we do. From managing donor funds to reporting project outcomes, we are accountable to our communities, partners, and supporters. We believe trust is built through honesty, responsible stewardship, and consistent delivery of our mission.
We embrace creative, forward-thinking solutions to solve pressing environmental challenges. Whether it’s introducing clean cooking technologies, developing sustainable livelihood alternatives, or leveraging digital tools for community education, MIGAU is dedicated to transforming traditional approaches through innovation that works at the grassroots level.
“As a university student studying environmental science, I joined MIGAU hoping to gain experience. What I found was much more—a passionate team, real community involvement, and the opportunity to plant trees with children who now call them ‘hope trees.’ It made me realize that conservation isn’t just theory—it’s action, and it starts with us.”
“I volunteered during the community tree nursery setup in Masindi. I watched local families take ownership of every seedling, knowing it meant cleaner air, shade, and income tomorrow. MIGAU gave me the chance to make a real difference on the ground, and the experience humbled me beyond words.”
“I traveled from the city to volunteer on a clean cooking project in Lira. What I saw was incredible—how a simple improved stove could reduce deforestation and health problems in entire communities. MIGAU doesn’t just talk about sustainability; they live it. I’m proud to have been part of that movement.”
