Rwensama Learning Forest:

A Vanishing Legacy and a Call to Action

Rwensama Learning Forest, located in Budongo sub-county, is a vital ecosystem that has been
facing significant threats. As a native son of this land, born in 1967, I’ve witnessed the forest’s
decline, with approximately 75% of its original cover lost. This degradation not only affects
biodiversity but also impacts local communities that depend on the forest for their livelihoods
